![]() There is a reason why EVERY raceĬar uses full 100% synthetic oil: it's better, and worth the cost. I have raced a formula car in SCCA for 30 years. I use full synthetic 10-40 or 20-40 in all. I drive the SLK to work 2-3 days a week, and drive my 1991 190E 2.3 the other days. I use any name brand filter from Pep Boys or Autozone, or Kragen/ Grand Auto. I drive it ~10,000-12,000 miles a year, almost all highway. I use 10-40 or 20-40, 100% SYNTHETIC oil (any name brand) and change it every 6 months, no matter what mileage. So, for my 2000 SLK 230 (with SC pulley kit, bigger IC & muffler), In these 2 places, it never snows and it never freezes. I live in San Francisco Bay area, and Benzworld Newbie lives in Socal.
